My images express the view that we are all family, interdependent, interconnected, and worthy of respect: from universe to rock to plant to animal and human. This web site presents some of the artwork I've made since I was a child. My life and art are more than complementary. My art is an emergent property, a necessary outgrowth of life.

Ever since I was a child art has been flowing out of me. I use whatever medium, composition, style, and materials that best fit the concept and my own abilities and resources at the moment. Because I wanted to learn and do more, especially with technology, I moved to New York City and got an MFA in visual essay from School of Visual Arts (SVA). I met some amazing students, professors, and professionals there! My focus was on graphic black/white images using lino-cut block prints, art using cutting edge technology, book-making, and drawing on location. Frances Jetter was my advisor. Most of my art today uses technology to bend the bounds of the possible. All of my art is symbolic; it relates to archetypal concepts meaningful across cultures, nature, and humanity. My art is colorful poetry, visionary and visual philosophy. I use color as a symbolic language. My art is deeply rooted in the phenomenology of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Jungian archetypes, paradigm shift, emergence, and many faith traditions as well as science. When a new series presents itself I do research and learn so that whatever vision is there will fully manifest.
Life is short. As a human, I feel responsibility to use my unique talents and skills to live sustainably, healthily, equitably, respectfully. I try to do no harm, but instead to bring out the best in myself and others, in each situation, and in the world. This art is an emergent property of my life. I hope you enjoy it!
