About Jen Seron

My images express the view that we are all family, interdependent, interconnected, and worthy of respect: from universe to rock to plant to animal  and human. This web site presents some of the artwork I've made since I was a child. My life and art are more than complementary. My art is an emergent property, a necessary outgrowth of life.

Artistic Framework

I am inspired by you! I've spent my life working with people, nature, and learning about the culture, stories and esoteric wisdom of many peoples past and present. I've studied science and use evidence and the scientific method. See the Climate Change on Rice series. Starting a family has also been inspirational for my artistic life. Every job I've had has generated a new art series. My art is an emergent property, a necessary outgrowth of life.

I am thankful for all my wonderful family, friends, mentors, workplaces, and even those I meet randomly who inspire me.

I hope that I am as inspirational to others as they have been, are, and will be to me. Thank you for coming to my site.

What inspires you?

Artistic Framework

My artistic subject matter has three themes: humanity, nature, and cultural wisdom.

My artistic medium and technique varies. Although a many of my series are in oil on canvas or panels, I also paint and draw with acrylic ink, watercolor, pastels, Art Markers, pencils, crayons, as well as doing block-printing, and book-making using paper, yarn, textiles, fabric, and even performance art when those skills are needed. I use whatever medium or techniques are necessary to best express the specific concepts on which I'm working. For example, most of the Alef Bet series I painted with my fingers and with oil sticks instead of brushes.

My art embraces cutting edge technology. I enjoy studying the methods used by artists and artisans of the past, but also making use of the technology of today as exemplified by my recent series of images in which the computer is used as a tool to create images and/or to manipulate my own original work and photos I've taken Candy Ribbon, Entropy, Emergence, Rumi, Yantras,  Emergent Overlap, Black Holes, Emergent Brain.

My uniquely personal style transcends the technology, media or technique I employ.

Mission

In regard to art, I have no mission other than to let it flow out however it manifests, limited by responsible ethics, resources, time, and space.

In regard to life, my mission is to use myself fully in service while encouraging others to likewise make the most of their own talents and skills within increasingly sustainable, healthy, equitable, and inclusive communities.

Whatever the environment within which we find ourselves, we can live consciously, aware.

Let's interact! Thanks for visiting my site! Let me know what you think, feel, and do about your life!
